Academic Achievement Awards
1. University Scholars
This award is given out to the students who have participated in SHS's most rigorous curriculum, which includes college level courses.
2. Top Ten in the Senior Class
These awards are given to the top ten students in the class based on grade point average
3. Ohio Board of Regents
This award is calulated on a combination of factors including grade point average and college board scores. It is awarded to the student with the highest calculated score going to an Ohio School

Individual Donor Awards
1. Douglas Naylor Soccer Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a student of good academic standing and citizenship who has been involved with the SHS Soccer program.
2. Marjorie T. Lane Memorial Scholarship
Will be awarded annually to a senior student who demonstrates high academic promise and financial need.
3. Sandy Grimm Swimming Scholarship
Will be given out annually to a senior swimmer who demonstrates high character and financial need.
4. Dick & Margaret Baker Scholarship
The award will go to a deserving senior.
5.William Callender Memorial Scholarship
The award will go to a senior football player who will attend a private college.
6. Lee Ann Corsi Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded annually to an honor roll student in memory of Lee Ann, who will attend a private school.
7. Cori Morrow Memorial Scholarship
The award will go to a deserving senior student.
8. The Robert ''Jabby'' Young Sr. Scholarship
9. Betty Waugaman Memorial Scholarship
10. First Lt. Besozzi Scholarship
Will go to a member of the Big Red baseball team.
11. Albino D.Bodo Scholarship
The scholarship recipient must be a senior football player.
12.Garland Baker Sr. Scholarship
This award is given to an African American with they need, and a 3.0 GPA who will attend a four year college.
13. Brian Morrow Memorial
This scholarship is to recognize those who exemplifies the Big Red tradition of achieving excellence in academics and athletics.
14. Harry Firm Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student and athlete who have above all embodies the adage: "Goodness is marked by how you treat those people who can do absolutely nothing for you in return."
15. Abe Bryan Scholarship
This scholarship is going to a football player.
16. Chuck Watt Scholarship
17. Eleanor Naylor Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for a graduating female athlete who has a 3.6 GPA and has lettered in a sport.
18. Gaylord Scholarship
This awarded is given to a a student who demonstrates financial need and is enrolled in a four year accounting or business program.
19.Vince Gryszka Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving member of the Big Red Golf team.
20. The Joan J. Powell Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior that has a 3.0 GPA and is enrolled as a full- time student at a four year College or University.
21. Musgrave/Muskingum Alumni Scholarship
Designed for students to attend Muskingum College.
22. Naomi Cook Memorial Scholarship
A student demonstrating strong academic achievement and exemplary citizenship, along with need will be honored with this scholarship.
23.Yanok Family Scholarship
Given to a senior who must have a 3.25 GPA or higher, lettered for two years in a varsity sport and has earned an academic letter for two years.
24. Hazel Vein Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving male or female athlete.
25. The Charles M. and Thelma M. Pugliese Charitable Foundation
This scholarship will be given to four students who maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and have financial need.
26. Kamarados Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be given to a student majoring in business.
27. Coach Bob Hedmond Memorial Athletic Scholarship
This scholarship will be given to a needy senior with a 2.5 GPA that played sports.
28. Saccoccia Family Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a high achieveing senior that participated in three sports.
29. Brian Gatson Scholarship
Given to a senior that has enrolled in a private college, ,has financial need and high academics.
30. Gloria Matthews Coan Scholarship
Given to a senior based on need and achievement.
31. Samuel S. Johnston Scholarship
Given to a senior with a 3.0 GPA and enrolled as a full- time student in a four year engineering program.
32. Lt. John Casper Kaufmann Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund
It wil be awarded to a senior that is involved in aviation, education, or theater.
33. Dorothy Porter Simmons Scholarship
This scholarship is based on neeed and displaying characteristics of community service and integrity.
34. John A. DeStefano Sr. Memorial Scholarship
Student must have a 2.5 GPA or higher and must plan to continue her education at a 4year post secondary institution.
35. Judith Martin Fulton Elementary Education Scholarship
The recipient must be a deserving senior enrolled in an elementary education major.
36. Lewis Giammarco Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given to a student athletic with academic achivement.
37. Klien Family Scholarship
For a senior football player attending a four year university in a business related field.
38. John Pergi Scholarship
This scholarship is for an exceptional student that plans to major in chemistry or science.
39. Millicent Pearce Kaufmann Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given to a young woman who is interested in a business program.
40. Joseph & Dorothy Fahey Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving senior student in memory of Joseph and Dorothy Fahey.
41. Edward J. Pales Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has been in the orchestra.
42. Dr. Paul Wright Scholarship
This scholarship is given to a deserving SHS student.
43. Mary Anderson Scholarship
This scholarship has been designated to go to a female basketball player.
44. Bressler Family Scholarship
This scholarship is to go to a good school citizen with financial need.
45. Corsi Family Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to go to a valedictorian of the graduating class.
46. Crosier/Keenan Family Scholarship
This scholarship is to go to a student of good academic standing who has been involved with the SHS wrestling program.
47. D'Anniballe Family Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a high achieving graduate planning on majoring in accounting or business.
48. Howard "Tiny" Linn Scholarship
This scholarship is to go to an outstanding senior football player who demonstrates good sportsmanship and leadership qualities, and this person should also be a fine representation of Steubenville High School in the top 1/3 of the class and/or 2.5 GPA.
49. Dr. Dan Keenan Family Scholarship
This scholarship is for an SHS senior that has a 3.0 or higher GPA that shows high qualities in leadership and character.
50. Mary T. Kittle Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2000.
51. James Murray Scholarship
This scholarship is to go to a student going into the science field.
52. Ang Vaccaro Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded annually to a graduating senior who enrolls in an accredited four year college or university as an education major and who intends to pursue a career in teaching or coaching.
53. Richard Vosper Memorial Athletic Scholarship
The scholarship is to be given annually to an athlete, preferably a football player or cheerleader who plans to further their education.
54. Dr.Donna R.White Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2000.
55. Thomas R. Brown, DDS Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to aid a senior student who plans to enter the dental or medical field. Students who qualify for this award should have at least a 3.25 GPA.
56. Susie Henderson Memorial Scholarship
Students who qaulify for this award must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and must have attended Roosevelt School. They must also be involved in music and community service activities.
57. JJ Macedonia Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to a deserving senior student from Steubenville High School.
58. John Maltese Scholarship
This award is presented to a senior baseball player who exhibits high academic achievement and good character.
59. Patterson Scholarship
Presented to a deserving graduate of Steubenville High School.
60. Sarap Family Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to a deserving senior student at Steubenville High School who is involved in multiple extracurricular activites. The student must also have maintained at least a B+ average while in high school.
61. Douglas Applegate Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to assist students who wish to pursue a career that may lead to government (elected or other) or public service.
62. Georgiafandis Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship should be in the top 15% of his or her class.
63. Dean Martin Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a student who wishes to pursue a career in music.
64. Forest Mick Scholarship
Students who recieve this scholarship must excel in the classroom, in school related activities, and in interpersonal relationships.
65. George K. Pearce Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will help a deserving high school student to coninue his or her education.
66. George and Mary Belle Wade Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1998.
67. CR Kids Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who wish to go into the feld of education or service to the community.
68. Lighthizer Memorial Scholarship
It is intended for a student athlete in the upper quarter of the class who will be attending a four year college preferably
pursuing a health career.
69. Harry Reed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to someone who is pursueing graphics and/or printng career.
70. Spirit of Big Red Scholarship
This scholarship goes to students who exemplifies the spirite of Big Red during the year to a senior who has grown mentally, emotionally, morally, physically, socially, and exhibits the spirite of the Big Red.
71. Edith Wilson Memorial Scholarship
It is to be awarded to needy graduating seniors who will be attending a college or university of their choice.
72. Darius Alexander Memorial Scholarship
It is designed for a student with financial need.
73. Crawley Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a student with need.
74. Hauser Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a high achieving SHS graduate who plans to enroll in college preferably in business.
75. Dennis Palmer Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship is designed for a high achieveing student with need
76. Rhinaman Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a deserving graduate of Steubenville High School.
77. Academy of Tae -Kwon -Do Scholarship
Students who have exemplified knowledge in the mind.honesty ,in the heart ,and strength in the body
78. Romano Memorial Scholarship
It is designed for a graduate SHS student.
79. David E. Hindman Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is designed for a financially deserving, high achieveing student who will serve his or her community .
80. Joe Prest Memorial Scholarship
The criteria for this award is a 2.75 GPA, be a winner of a varsity athletic letter, and being a good school citizen.
81.Curtis Greenberg Scholarship for the Performing Arts
This award is to be given to a SHS graduate who will major in the performing arts and who will possibly share their knowledge in the arts with others through teaching.
82. Albaugh-Wherry Scholarship
The award's criteria includes Academic Achievement, Citizenship and attending a public college in Ohio or an Ohio Conference School.
83. McBride Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to someone who values education.
84. Ed and Virginia Bauknect Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a student who plans to attend a trade, business, or nursing school. It will also be based on financial need, ability, and desire.
85. Barkhurst Scholarship
This scholarship is to go to a deserving recipient with high achievement, citizenship, and need.
86. Lodge Scholarship
This award is given annually to a senior planning on being an educator. Its cornerstones are strong achievement, citizenship, and need.
87. William D.Smythe Scholarship
This is a scholarship for a Big Red student who achieved academically and has contributed to good school citizenship while a student at Steubenville High School.
88. Bressler Scholarship
This scholarship is to be given annually to a worthy and needy student displaying the ability to achieve and be a positive force in tomorrow's workplace.
89. Joe Heatherington Scholarship
This award is to honor a student athlete, who has achieved high academic honors.
90. Helen B. and William Priest Sr. Scholarship in the name of Ella Safford
This scholarship is to be awarded annually to a deserving black student in the name of Ella Safford, dedicated empoyee of the Priest family. Its cornerstones are academic achievement, citizenship, and need.
91. J.C. Williams Trust Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to a needy Big Red student who has achieved academically and has demonstrated a willingness to work hard and to show compassion, understanding, and concern in helping others in the Steubenville-Weirton area.
92. Doug Naylor Scholarship
This is a fund which is in the building process with the purpose of establishing a trust. From this trust, funds will be made available to support worthy graduates of the school.
93. Bertha Egan
This is a four year tuition award to be given to a worthy and needy graduate of SHS, this award is given every fifth year.
94. Helen B. and William Priest Sr.Scholarship
This scholarship is meant to support students who wish to explore college studies outside of the general area and who seek to challenge themselves in educational settings which are new and different.
