Teacher: William Booze
Class: Special Education 9-12, Social Studies, English, Science
Materials needed daily: Pencils and paper
Additional materials needed: Science students will need to not wear open toed shoes on lab days.
Homework procedures: Homework is assigned usually 2-3 days a week, with it due the next call meeting.
Testing procedures: Tests are usually given out every 2-3 weeks and we always review before the test in class, but students will need to study before the tests in order to pass them. Sometimes, students will be allowed to use notes on the tests, but they have to have those notes in their folders.
Notebooks: Students will be taking notes and writing responses in class. They will also be keeping work in folders. The tests are ALWAYS based on what should be in these folders.
Additional Assignments: Book reports are done in the Language Arts classes. Lab reports are done in the Science classes. Reports are also done in social studies, with a research paper to be done later in the year.
Grade Structure: Grades are based on points in my classroom. Usually homework will make up about 25% of that grade, with tests making up about 30% of the grades. Participation makes up for about 10% of the grade. In class work and projects make up the remainder of the grades. There are always chances for extra credit, sometimes on the form of extended writing, sometimes in the form of extra participation in class.
