Class:               Spanish I & II

 

Materials needed daily:             Book – pencil – highlighter – folder – Spanish dictionary.

 

Additional materials needed:      Blank index cards (to be used to make flashcards)

 

Homework procedures:            Homework is assigned 3-4 days per week.  Daily study of vocabulary and info covered in class guarantees success.

 

Testing procedures:                   Quizzes are given at the end of each lesson.  For the first 9-12 weeks, quizzes are given every 4-5 class days.  For the remainder of the year, tests are generally given every 8-10 class days.  Occasionally, a grade will be given for a brief in-class activity.  At the end of most units, a Unit Test is given.  Students will be notified several days in advance.  Vocab lists, notes, and gold grammar pages (at end of lesson) prove to be valuable study tools.

 

Notebooks:                              Notebooks or folders should be used to organize vocab lists, workbook pages, handouts, notes etc..

 

Additional Assignments:            Cultural projects

 

Grade Structure:                       Grades are based on total points (150-300). 

Quizzes 20 points

                                                Unit tests 50-60 points

                                                Homework/participation 45-50 points per nine weeks.

 

Additional Information:              Students have as many days to make up an assignment equal to the number of days absent.  If absent for a school sponsored event (which is planned in advance) students will take the test as scheduled.  Points will be deducted for those who do not make up work on time.  Three hall passes per nine weeks.  Students must use their own agenda as a hall pass.
