Class: Advanced English 9
Materials needed daily: Book, pen – pencil – highlighter – notebook with lined paper, folder
Additional materials needed: Access to computer and printer
Homework procedures: Daily study of information covered in class. Homework assigned when necessary.
Testing procedures: Tests usually cover a particular unit or part of a unit and are given approximately every 2 weeks. Notes, review sheets, and study guides are completed in class (to be used as a study tool.) Students will be notified 2-4 days in advance. Information from reading assignments will be included on tests.
Notebooks: Notebooks will be used to organize notes, handouts, study guides etc, journal entries and OGT assignments.
Additional Assignments: Compositions and research papers. Independent reading assignments.
Grade Structure: Grades are based on total points (200-300). Tests range from 20-80 points. Homework, projects, writing assignments, and journal entries will be a part of the grade.
Additional Information: Students have as many days to make up an assignment equal to the number of days absent. If absent for a school sponsored event (which is planned in advance) students will take the test as scheduled. Points will be deducted for those who do not make up work on time. Three hall passes per nine weeks. Students must use their own agenda as a hall pass.
