Class:               Chemistry

 

Materials needed daily: Textbook, notebook, writing utensil

 

Additional materials needed:      Calculator (useful but not required)

 

Homework procedures:            Homework will be assigned 3-4 nights/week.  It will be checked for completeness, then we will go over the answers.  This is a small part of the grade but it is essential to keep up.

 

Testing procedures:                   3 – 4 tests per grading period.  These are worth 100 points each.  We will review the day prior to the test.  If students score below 75%, they may retake the tests.  The maximum score on retakes is 75%.

 

Notebooks:                              Useful but not graded.

 

Additional Assignments:            There will be one project/paper per grading period.  Occasional quizzes and lab reports.

 

Grade Structure:                       Each assignment is given a point value.  Tests 100 points, quizzes are 10 – 20 points, homework 3 points, project 50 – 100 points, labs 20 – 30 points.

 

Additional Information:              Tutoring is available.  Must have safety contract on file.  This is a weighed course.
