Class: Advanced Composition/Literature

Materials needed daily: Textbook, notebook, writing utensil

Additional materials needed: Supplemental novels, short storied, etc. supplied by teacher

Homework procedures: Homework will be given on an almost nightly basis, either reading and or written homework. No late homework will be accepted unless absence is excused by the office. No make up homework for partial credit.

Testing procedures: Tests are given approx. every two weeks depending upon material.

Notebooks: Students should take notes daily and use them to complete homework and prepare for tests.

Additional Assignments: Research projects and creative writing projects are required. Emphasis on composition writing is a core part of the class.

Grade Structure: Daily grades include homework, quizzes, and other assignments. Tests and projects are weighted double. All grading is on a 100 point system. Required writing conferences are part of students grade.

Additional Information: Opportunity for extra credit is given to the entire class, not on an individual need basis.
