Class:               Newspaper

 

Materials needed daily: Writing utensil, proposals

 

Homework procedures:            Occasionally students are asked to attend events for reporting purposes.

 

Testing procedures:                   There is a mid term exam.

 

Additional Assignments:            The newspaper is based upon writing news stories and issues that effect the high school age student.  The students focus on what they think their peers want to read.

 

Grade Structure:                       The paper is based on points given for completing the process of publishing a newspaper.  Generally, we publish every 2 weeks with 100 points available during that time.

 

Additional Information:              In newspaper we spend an inordinate amount of time on editing so it is essential that a student focus on this skill.
