MARCH MEETING
2006
The following items were discussed during the March meeting held at the Jefferson County Educational Service Center:
The next
date for the Jefferson County LPDC is April 19, 2006. Teachers who are
renewing and/or transitioning to a license need to have their renewal packet
and new IPDP sent to Carol Webb at Central Office at least one week before
this date so she can process and send to JCESC in time for the April
meeting.
June 30,
2006 is the last date that an 8-Year Certificate can be renewed. You must
include a new IPDP with your renewal packet and send to Carol Webb at
Central Office at least one week before the April meeting to be included for
review.
Remember to RENEW ON TIME !!
The
holder of
a certificate or license that has been expired for a minimum of one day and
up to five years must successfully complete the equivalent of 9 semester
hours to renew.
The
University of Phoenix (AZ) has been added to the
list of approved colleges and universities. There are now 28.
Your LPDC rep has a copy of the updated list.
CEU credit
for Praxis Retooling training has been increased to 5 CEUs per license
cycle.
JCESC is discussing plans to
develop
meaningful professional development options in the form of inservices,
workshops, and/or study groups for the upcoming 06-07 school year. If you or
your building have specific needs and/or have a specific area that you would
like to see addressed, please give your ideas to one of the LPDC
representatives.
