Setting up
Outlook for use with OME-RESA's Exchange Server
Outlook 2000,
2002, and 2003 can make connections to Exchange server using MAPI, Microsoft's
Message Application Programming Interface. There are three Outlook Versions that
can be
used with OME-RESA's Exchange Server. To find out which version you have, start
up Outlook
and choose "Help...About". Then choose the correct set of instructions from
the list
below. Each version does things a little bit differently

2002 Setup Instructions
Click here for Outlook Express Instructions
(IMAP and POP3 only)

Using
Outlook is only offered if you are inside the OME-RESA/District network. You
cannot use the full
Outlook Client from home. From home, please use the OWA web-based access by
clicking the
"Webmail" button on the main
OME-RESA Homepage.
Outlook
Express does not support connections directly to an Exchange server using the
MAPI
protocol. Outlook Express only supports IMAP and POP3. You CAN connect to
OME-RESA's server
using IMAP or POP3 with Outlook Express, but you will not be able to store
calendars and
contacts on the Exchange server. To store calendars and contacts, you will need
a full
version of Outlook.
