| Message from the Principal |
| Welcome to SouthWest Middle School,
One of Ohio's "Award Winning Schools" SouthWest has been
designated as a "School of Excellence" by the state of Ohio. For
the second year in a row, we have been selected as a "State
Superintendent's School of Promise". Great students, taught by a
quality staff, supported by caring parents = SouthWest Middle School |

| Academic Programs |
| South West Middle School has a
middle school level educational program with excellent programs for all
three grades. Our School wide program emphasizes reading and
math. Special Education classes are offered to students with
learning disabilities. Career education classes are offered to all
8th grade students. SouthWest Middle School has a full time
Guidance Department. |

| Facility |
| Recent renovations have brought our
building into the 21st century. New wiring, roof, windows,
auditorium seating and 2 complete computer labs, make our building a
great place to be. |

| Curriculum |
| In addition to the 5 core subjects
of English, Reading, Math, Science and History, all SouthWest Middle
School students are scheduled into a computer class, every 6th grade
student is scheduled into 2 math and 2 reading classes. After
School Extended Learning and Summer Intervention classes are offered. |

| Extra Curricular Programs: |
| Opportunities exist for personal
growth at SouthWest Middle School. Students are encouraged to
participate in the Audio-Visual Club, Marching Band, Concert Band,
Chorus, Yearbook, Student Council, Art Club, and Honors Club. Each
spring our 6th grade students attend the week long Outdoor Education
Program. |

| Awards |
| Over the last 4 years, SouthWest
Middle School has received many Statewide Awards. In 2000 we
earned a State Incentive Award for improved Proficiency results.
We followed that up with a State Superintendents School of Promise Award
in 2002 and for the second year in a row we received another State
Superintendent School of Promise Award in 2003. These awards were
based on Academic Achievement. |

| Athletics |
| A full slate of activities are
offered to SouthWest Middle School students. Interscholastic
sports include Cross Country, Football, Volleyball, Basketball,
Wrestling, and Track. We also have award winning Cheerleaders. |
